THE GUNSLINGER’S VOW

Author: Amy Sandas

Pub Date: June 5, 2018

Publisher: SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca

Romance: Historical Romance

Synopsis:

Alexandra Brighton is living a lie. 2DA26658-gunslingers_vowFearing for her life, her father sent her to live in Boston. Dissatisfied with her role as a proper lady, Alexandra yearned to return to her previous lifestyle in Montana. Newly engaged, she cannot commit to marriage without making peace with her past.

Malcolm Kincaid has done quite nicely working alone. For years he’s been hell-bent on finding his brother’s murderer. The last thing he needed was to get saddled with a prissy city woman. After reluctantly agreeing to assist Alexandra on her journey home, Malcolm discovers he may have been wrong about the beauty.

 My thoughts:

In my opinion, THE GUNSLINGER’S VOW, is a must read for anyone who enjoys bad-ass heroines. Alexandra Brighton is a woman I’d like to meet. Determined and intelligent, she’s not afraid to get dirty and Malcolm Kincaid is the epitome of the strong silent type.

I will admit, that I found the middle of this book to drag a bit. However, author, Amy Sandas rectified that during the last quarter of the book. I could hardly put it down, it was so hot. Full of passion and drama, I couldn’t help but fall in love with this rough and tough couple.

Happy Reading!

My Thoughts:

Duke-Like-No-Other-e1507074308695Valerie Bowman offered readers some interesting twists in A Duke Like No Other. The second chance romance is bound to make your heart flutter. The sexual tension is hot and the conflict is relatable.

My Thoughts:

6889572You simply cannot go wrong with a book written by the amazingly talented Kat Martin. The second novel in The Bride Trilogy, Reese’s Bride, is richly layered in emotion. Both Reese and Elizabeth suffered greatly from a single night of passion. Yet, they’ve remained deeply in love. Reunited as adults, they each battle their own internal conflicts over their pasts.

THE ROGUE IS BACK IN TOWN

Romance: Historical Romance

Synopsis:

In THE ROGUE IS BACK IN TOWN, Lord Samuel Travis epitomizes naughtiness. Especially, after a night of excess finds him in the bed with his neighbor’s wife. Disgraced for the last time, his older brother has him forcefully removed from the familial home with nothing but the clothes on his back. 514231FA0SL._SX298_BO1,204,203,200_After agreeing to his brother’s sinister motivation, Sam finds himself on the doorstep of one-time wallflower, Juliette Lacey and her eccentric uncle. Tormented with the possibility that her uncle doesn’t own the worn-down town house they reside in Juliette must decipher between a web of lies.

My Thoughts:

I enjoy Anna Bennett’s romances. THE ROGUE IS BACK IN TOWN is the third book in the Wayward Wallflower series featuring three sisters who find love and happiness. Intelligent and sharp-tongued, Juliette Lacey is my favorite of the three sisters and Sam is a mess until he meets her. His attraction and need for Juliette provides readers an intimate look into the making of a man. His heart on the line, Sam’s vulnerability is truly swoon worthy.

THE DUKE WHO RAVISHED ME

Author: Diana Quincy

Pub Date: April 17, 2018

Publisher: Random House Publishing Group-Loveswept

Romance: Historical Romance

Synopsis:

Adam Fairfax, the Duke of Sunderford was known for his sexual transgressions. He cared little for meaningful relationships. TheDukeWhoRavishedMe-FINAL-e1523924309831Instead, he was content with his devil-may-care lifestyle. Imagine his surprise, when the unexpected happened. The last thing anyone, including “Sinful Sunny,” expected was that he’d lose his heart to twin seven-year-old girls their strong-willed governess, a woman with a secret past.

 My thoughts:

In my opinion, THE DUKE WHO RAVISHED ME, is a story of hope. Reader’s first introduction to Adam Fairfax is as an excessively spoiled duke with little regard for anything but immediate gratification. As the story evolves, Ms. Quincy exposes the inner turmoil of this broken man. Perhaps, his biggest secret being that he has a heart. Isobel Finch is a multi-facet woman hiding a huge secret. Seemingly rigid and stern, I believe that Adam was the perfect match for her. Their seething banter and highly sexual chemistry was bound to implode. And, it did.

THIRSTY

Romance: Contemporary Romance

Synopsis:

Life hasn’t been kind to Salvador “Sal” Rosas, aka “Ghost.” 9780525478638As a gangster, “Ghost” has paid the price for a life on the streets, spending most of his time taking part in criminal activities which rewarded him with five years of imprisonment. Now released from prison, Sal longs to retire into a life away from the gang. Given a new opportunity to learn the craft of brewing along with a chance at happiness with the one woman who owns his heart, Vanessa Velasco, Sal is in for the fight of his life.

My thoughts:

Thirsty is the first book in Mia Hopkins Eastside Brewery series. Written in first person point-of-view, Ms. Hopkins, treats her readers to the intimate thoughts of Salvador Rosas. Raw and emotional, I found this novel to be enthralling. When viewed through Sal’s eyes, readers get the unique opportunity to see the epitome of a man. Strong. Tough. Hard. Tender. Anxious. Scared. All facets of Salvador Rosas were stripped bare.

Raphael de Chartres vowed to destroy The Lords of Chaos. The evil group was responsible for his life of darkness and despair. In order to save Iris, he forces her to marry him. Injured both mentally and physically, Iris is determined to break through Raphael’s private hell and bring him into the light.

My thoughts:

Intimacy at its best. I’ve been an admirer of Elizabeth Hoyt’s works for years. Her compelling characters are often misunderstood, gritty and raw. Ms. Hoyt isn’t afraid to reveal the strengths and weaknesses in her characters. Her talent of blending a loving relationship among insurmountable odds makes her a master story-teller. Basically, what I’m saying is any time Elizabeth Hoyt pens a new novel it is bound to be a treasure.

Romance: Historical

Strong willed and independent, Mariah has partaken in some pretty outlandish behavior.pic Both beautiful and intelligent, she cares little for what society thinks. When he does the unthinkable, enlisting the help of Robert Carlisle to assist in finding Mariah a suitable husband, she becomes a force to be reckoned with until she finds she actually likes the intolerable man.

A partnership with Winslow Shipping Company is the opportunity that Robert Carlisle has worked tirelessly for. There is only one obstacle—Mariah Winslow. To seal the deal, Robert agrees to use the Carlisle family’s influence to marry off the insufferable woman. He hadn’t planned to find himself in love with Mariah nor did he plan to have to choose between loving her, obtaining a partnership, or reconciling with his past.

My thoughts:

The chemistry between Robert and Mariah was combustible. I couldn’t put this Regency romance down. Anna Harrington is one of my all-time favorite authors and once again, she’d written a spellbinding story.
